Question Waffle / Trough Slab Mould - Sloped Floor

    Hi,

I have to model a lot of waffle floors based on the Peri 9M Polypropylene mould system.
I have created a void family using a slab based family template.
It works fine for level floors... As soon as the floor is sloped I am stumped...

    How do I fix this?

I am in a bit of a time crunch on this one... All help will be appreciated

Are there better ways to model the waffle ribs?225 9M Mould 350 Slab'.rfa

Well I know here when we do joist slabs or beam and slab systems, if they end up with slopes they are a separate pour so I model them as such. Create the min floor depth based on your min slab thickness + dome height. Then add a topping slab to create the slopes.

Not quite sure if that will work... It is a parking structure with a sloped floor at a 5% grade... so the voids have to follow the slope of the floor
I need the void form to rotate with the top plane of the slab. The problem is that the insertion point is correct on the centre of the void form, but it is placed horizontally at that position and not at the slope of the floor at the position in question.

Have you tried to create a sloped ref plane, name it and use that as your level? Just a thought.
The other way you may be able to do this would be to use a joist for the ribs of the waffle slab, attached them to the sloped ref plane, and skip the voids. Not exactly how it will be constructed, but it should get you a good representation. I suggest this, because I'm not sure if you can attache the top of a void to a sloped plane.
    Make sense?

Dave - I actually managed to fix the issue with the slope.
There is a small tick box in the Properties table for "Always vertical"
If not ticked the behaviour of the void is as required... (Rookie error on my side)
Thanks for your help & suggestions...
