Default Input data from excel to attributes?

I have 1000+ drawings that are basically the same with the exception of minor dimensional changes. I've got all the dimensions in an excel file. Is there a way for me to pull data out of the excel sheet and have autocad update dimensions in the .dwg file? The only linking I've seen so far has been for complete tables, or for exporting date out of autocad to excel, not bring it in like I am trying to do. Would appreciate any pointers... Thanks!

a previous company i had would use an excel sheet to provide the revision information for its drawings and everytime it opened acad it would update. however it was a very buggy process and encountered alot of errors where a drawing would be revised in cad and resions updated in cad and issued, the next time its opened, the revisions reverted back to the excel sheet... it was a painful thing...

this was 4yrs ago, i think i still have the stuff somewhere i can look into.

how is the spreadsheet setup? anything is possible with programming these days. but are you looking to stretch the objects or just fudge the dimensions with a text override? i would assume the override would be more likely than the stretching... but i am no proffessional

Haven't tried this at all, but have you looked at all into trying to link the excel file to a custom block with a lookup table maybe? then your block would just have a drop down list to choose which size you'd want to use..just an idea

The adjusments to geometry will be small, so just changing the dimension text is sufficient. No need to stretch geometry.
