Tutorial to learn how to make a repeating detail??

Can anyone point me in the right direction so that I can learn how to create a repeating detail.
I have a section through a roof & want to show the metal profile of the roof covering in the section.

Have you seen the proceedure outlined in the wiki help? It may give you the direction you need to create your own repeating detail. Basically you take a standard detail component already loaded into your project and tell it how (spacing) you want the detail component to repeat as you draw a line. Repeating details can only be linear.

I have a profile of a metal roofing sheet that I want to use. I can utilise the existing repeating details I just want to make a particular repeating detail from these local (Australian) sheet roofing product suppliers, link. http://www.steelselect.com/download_...hp?link_id=244

You can't make a repeating detail from a profile family. You will need to convert this to a detail component family before it can be used to create a repeating detail.
