Do you create a custom Revit.INI file when deploying a new version? If so, what do you change/add? Just looking for suggestions to make 2013 smoother than previous installs.
Thanks!

Aboiut the only things we touch in the .ini file are the locations for lookup tables etc so we can put them in a central location instead of having to update everyone separately when we are adding new ones in.
Paths for Content, details, lookup tables,& ies files. Helps to keep these in a central location. Also can set things like selection color. This keeps all installations consistent.
Remember that starting with 2012, the ini file in the Program directory is just a template. The actual ini is created in the user's profile the first time they open the program. In order to get the user's ini to hold all of the custom locations and values, you have to edit the xml file that installer uses to create the template ini. There is a post on either Revit Clinic or Inside the Factory on how to get started doing it.
It seems like a pain at first, but since I had to install Revit for 200 people, it was well worth my time.
The 2013 installer has an option to select an INI file to use.![]()
Looks like its C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\[Revit Version]\revit.ini by default.
