Red face Annotative blocks - How can I speed up the saving and publishing process?

    Hi,
We are using annotative blocks for all our civil and electrical structures in one of our projects. I believe by using these annotative blocks, it has slowed the process of saving (up to 5 mins), publishing (waiting for the dialog box to pop up - up to 3 mins), and then when submitting the publish (waiting for the dialog box to disappear - up to 3 min.)
Are there any tricks/suggestions for making the blocks more user friendly.

I would appreciate any help you can give me.

I don't have an answer for you but I am curious to see what feedback you get. The two times I tried using annotative blocks I noticed it would take 3-5 minutes to change the annotative scale. I was using Civil 3D 2009 at the time. That kind of performance was unacceptable so I had to change them back to non-annotative.

the only way to test this is to create TWO files that are exactly identical excpt for use or non use of annotative blocks
save them with several different file names
and then run timed plot tests
if actual test data confirms your supposition, then stop using annotative blocks.
and send your files and results of these tests and the problem it causes to autodesk
along with another check for your subscription and see which one they deal with first
    Be your Best,
