Default What's the workaround for walls not showing when attached to roofs?

I'm drawing a residential roof with the floor below set as an underlay. Whenever I attach a wall to a roof is disappears in the roof plan. This not only happens on gable walls but any wall I attach to roof. What's the fix?
    Thanks

First thought is the "Show Hidden Line" tool. I think that's what it's called.
I'm assuming that they still show up in a 3d view.
