I am perfectly happy to speak with you offline, if you'd like. However, as this started publicly, and is not terribly unrelated to the forums in general, I feel that it is prudent to briefly discuss here.
Let's revisit the post which you chosen to find offensive:
Nothing in that statement is a reference to you, the Original Poster (OP); in fact the text is entirely self-referential as being the one that has missed out on this feature, and as being the "old dog." Furthermore, they expressed thanks for having learning this "old trick."
While sarcasm, etc. can certainly assert an alternative meaning to that which has been explicitly stated, I choose to believe that someone who has just gone through the process of registering an account here to make their first post is not doing so out of ill will, especially when all of the post is entirely self-referential.
In My Opinion (IMO), the post has simply been taken out of context... and not intentionally, of course.
I'm glad you found it (the article) to be useful.
It is impossible to know what others' work environment may be like. I know of many members who are still using 2004 and older versions still.
I consider myself to be quite knowledgeable, but I've never met anyone who knew all there was to know. That's why I personally value forums like this, and others, that make available to me a great knowledge base, in addition to the helpful members themselves. I am often reminded of, or learn about commands that I may have never used as an alternative to coding a LISP, etc..
I'm glad you found this thread to be useful.
I too had to learn these acronyms; No need to thank me, I'm happy to help.
Hope This Helps (HTH)!![]()
