    Default Polyline Corners

Does anyone know why when you assign a linetype other than continuous to a polyline in AutoCAD 2000i the corners are gapped?

I'm not getting that. What I have is that all the corners are solid and the linetype is spaced from there. I believe the variable responsible is PLINEGEN. Try setting that to 1.

go into the "pedit" command and then "L" for ltype gen...turn it off or on

this will make or keep the linetype from continuing to different line segments

    hope this helps

    Question Re: Polyline Corners

well fellas, I tried the plinegen variable and it did nothing. Let me see if I can make this clearer. I draw a polyline with a 1/8" width. If I draw it in a layer with continuous as the ltype the corner(s) looks fine, but if I change properties to another layer with a hidden, center, or phantom line type the corners are broken. As I've said the plinegen variable didn't work. Any other suggestions. I even e-mailed Lynn Allen at cadonline, but have yet to get a response.

    HELP!!!

The plinegen system variable when set to "1" will draw all plines from that point on with it's linetype generation turned "ON". By just setting it to "1" doesn't affect any polylines already in the drawing prior to setting the variable. It's easy enough though to swipe everything and edit their properties (by selecting "polylines" from the pulldown of found items) to linetype generation "ON".

    Unhappy Re: Polyline Corners

I've tried it and tried it and re-tried it and nothing is working. I am truly puzzled.

Remember that when you turn linetype generation "ON" for a polyline, the voids or open segments of the linetype WILL go around the corners. Turn linetype generation "OFF" in the properties window for a selected polyline to allow the corners to be shown. Sorry for the confusion earlier. I was just trying to explain the plinegen variable.
