Cannot "Place from Content Center"

Hey folks:

My company bought a single seat of Inventor 2012 a few months ago. I'm a vanilla AutoCAD geek and I'm trying to get my feet wet in Inventor by self-training and a big reference book and YouTube and all that jazz.....

Anyway, I'm in an assembly and when I click "place from content center", nothing happens. No dialog, just nothing.

I found a help document that tells me to go to the project dialog box and click the "configure content center" button but this also does nothing. What gives?

As I said, I'm totally green to this software, so I wouldn't be surprised to find out I'm doing something wrong..... Advice? Thanks!

That sounds like something you might want to contact autodesk about. You should get a dialog to pop up. Unless you somehow have it popping up and it isn't on the screen...like 2 monitors set up and its trying to pop up on the other, but I don't think it should do that unless you originally had it coming up and moved it.

I don't know if they have a light version of Inventor but maybe its not included in your package??

I fixed it!!!! I kept working at this and got nothing. So with my good friend Google, I came across this page. If the link is dead by the time you see this, do a search for "Inventor add-in repair utility". I downloaded the CMD file and put it into this folder "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2012\Bin" and ran it.

Then I restarted Inventor and tried to place a CC object in an assembly and the dialog box came up just like it should. Woohoo! Thanks for your post Chris.
