Unable to open a DWG file

Am making this post on behalf of "duckguy" as it was accidentally posted within the AUGI Calendar.

I have AutoCAD Mechanical 2005. When I try to open a .dwg I am able to open the first %93 of it. Then I get a fatal error: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0008 Exception at5edad578h

I have run the recover command, w/ no success. My supervisor is able to open the same network .dwg w/AutoCAD LT.

Are there any Ideas out there?

Could you let us know your hardware config and file size? Particularily your video card details.

Is this a problem with just this one file, or are you having problems opening other files? Had a workstation last week that was getting Unhandled Access Violation errors. You might try running setup and choosing the repair option.
