    Default Phasing

My architect's model has multiple phases. I am setting up the project now. I try to bring in his phase setting using the transfer project standards from his model to my model but I cannot get them to come into my model. I only get two options, existing and new construction. The architect has five. How do I get thee into my model?

    Thanks.

We had to do this for an extra phase once, and as far as I can tell you have to recreate the phases in your Model. Once created, select the link, edit type, and go to Phase Mapping to sych up the architect's phases with yours.

You have to manually add them and make sure that the names match eXactly! Make sure you map your phases to the arch phases in the (type) properties of the arch link.

Is it possible for one of you to walk me through how to set up a phase in my model then map it to the architects?

    Thanks in advance

First, get the exact names and order of the architect's phases. Then, go to Manage tab » Phases. Here you will see the two default Phases, as well as two buttons on the right under insert, "Before" and "After". Add and name the Phases to match the names and order of the architect's. Note that you cannot rearrange the order of the Phases once they're created. When completed, click 'OK'.

Next, select the architect's Link, click Edit Type, and then click Phase Mapping. A dialog box will come up that shows how the phases correspond to the links, which will control how the architect's model determines what Phase it should be in. All you have to do is ensure that each Phase matches up by name - for each Phase, select the link's Phase of the same name from the pull-down menu under 'Phase from linked file'. That's it.
