cross hairs making trails on screen

out of nowhere this morning, my crosshairs started leaving a trail as a moved it. I can cover the whole screen if i want with it, but obviously it makes it impossible to work on anything. If i click out of autocad it disappears and starts over.

I tried closing and reopening the drawing, as well as autocad.
Then i tried shutting down the computer and restarting, but the trails continue.

We have used the same PC and autocad setup for the past 2 years and never had this problem.

anyone ever deal with this?

Those are called "artifacts". It is a video driver issue. Perhaps your system was "updated". Installing the latest driver should help. However, it is possible they can introduce problems and you need to go back to a previous version.
