Thread: I can't get my head around sheet sets :(

Default I can't get my head around sheet sets :(

I have 10 designs for new frames my company is building, all based on an original design but with modified parts. There are 5 parts, some frames use the same parts.
My company wants a set of sheets for each frame, including a title page, views of the completed frame, and an appendix of the parts used in the particular frame.

I haven't been able to get my head around why you cant have a layout in multiple sheet sets. say frame 1,2 and 3 all used parts AAA and BBB, and i make a sheet set for pdf publish for frame 1 including layouts for AAA and BBB, then when I come to make a sheet set for frame 2, i cant include AAA and BBB. I don't want to have to copy a layout and use this (plus by doing so, id have to make changes to multiple layouts when a single part changes). I could print off all the layouts individually and sort them manually but this requires a lot of effort and undermines the feature of having sheet sets.

Am I going about this all wrong, or am I overlooking a setting? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm tearing my hair out.

It sounds like X-ref's of the five parts, would give the control you seek.

It does thank you, Ive been following the sheets happen! tutorial and its given me the flexibility I need.
The only problem is when using an xref, and viewing through a viewport with shadeplot legacy hidden.... it ignores the plot styles, and a lot of people have asked why over the years but no one has recieved an answer, Im tearing my hair out
