Question linking editable files to objects

hi all, working with linking files with relative paths works for .pdf's. however editable files, such as Word, and Excell wont keep the link. working with the computer that the navisworks manage file was saved and opening it with freedom, links to Word and Excell work great, if set-up with absolute path. since i'm trying to be able to give the .nwd to an end client i need to make the paths relative. when i set them us with relative paths and even open them with freedom on my computer the lind path is broken. is there a way to set-up links that will work for the client, other than saving as a .pdf first? so that the client can then open the link and edit the maintenance history for example.

thank you for any help that you can offer.

Default Re: linking editable files to objects

i found out how to fix this. my mistake was simply not having the correct navisworks files in the zipped folder. i only included the .nwd, and the .nwf files along with the supporting .pdf, word and excel files. after adding the .nwc file to the set, all the links work correctly. i hope that this post may help someone in the future.
