Question sill and double top plate in wall style

    I am using ACA 2009.
Is there a way to add sill plate and double top plate componants to a wall style?
I would like to have the plates show in section.

    Thank you

You could certainly add three additional "stud" components in line with the current stud component, and then adjust the top and bottom elevations of all of the stud components such that one ran from wall bottom to 1.5" above wall bottom (sill plate), the next ran from 1.5" above wall bottom to 3" below wall top (the vertical studs), one ran from 3" below wall top to 1.5" below wall top (lower top plate) and the last ran from 1.5" below wall top to wall top (upper top plate).

To anticipate your next question - there is no easy way to get the plates to show an "X" when cut in section. You could experiment with various hatch patterns, but it may be difficult to get that to show correctly in all possible wall configurations.

Here is a sample file, in which I took the out-of-the-box "Stud-3.5 GWB-0.625 Each Side" wall style, added three additional stud components and then modified the top and bottom elevation offsets as noted previously. I was lazy and did not rename the stud components to reflect which is which, but you could certainly do that as well. One note, because I added the Stud components before the second GWB component, I had to redo the Wall Endcap to get it to work properly.

    David,
Thank you, about 2 hours after posting, I remembered how to do this. So just like you suggested, I created 3 new stud components and it worked perfectly.
