    Default Shading and hiddne lines

So getting the hang of this revit beast slowly but surely. Now I want to get revit to produce some sharp looking drawings not the easiest thing i have realized.

    Here is what i want:

New duct, duct accessories, duct fittings, new mechanical equipment etc to show shaded. My plan for this is create a shared parameter and manually select yes or no to determine whether the equipment is new or existing. Since you can't use "phased created" as a view filter.

Problem with this is that when I shade everything like that it hides all the hidden lines which I want to see. If I use a material to shade the ducts and stuff it shows the hidden lines BUT can't figure out how to just add the material to the new stuff not the existing.

Hopefully you get my drift and thanks for the help

Settings > phases & create a new phase. In view properties select which phase is current, and what filters you want. (new and previous, etc)
