Inserting Column in AEC

I have a user that is attempting to insert a column from Build Column. As she inserts it, it is showing up in section and not in plan. She is in world view and the columns are inserting like beams. Any thoughts on how to get the columns to insert as columns?

Couple of questions/thoughts.

Does the column look right in the section? If not, could it be that the column height is below the cut plane or the elevation is incorrect and that is why it is not showing up.

What about in other views? Does it show up in other views? If it does clock on it and check the properties to make sure all of the parameters are set correctly.

When you say "world view", I assume you mean World UCS. Is the current view direction Top? Depending upon your display settings, a column viewed from a Front, Back, Left or Right view could look like a beam in a plan (Top) view.
