    Default Custom Doors

I have created a coiling overhead door, as shown in the attachment. To show correctly in plan and elevations, I have created head, panel, and jamb components to properly display the door frame, door tracks, the door panel, and the door hood.

The attached drawing shows what happens when the same door is placed in walls of different thicknesses. I assume the displacement has something to do with the insertion point of the blocks to represent the components. I have the insertion points set at the corner of the wall opening at either the right or left jamb. Should the insertion point be somewhere else, such as the wall centerline or baseline?

I haven't looked at your door (I will) but it's taken me a long time to have a handle on how you make things so they work like they should. I don't think the OOTB garage door does what it should. Carefully think thru what about the door placement is predictable. Make your insert points on your block suit that. Maybe you need to be thinking centre and then offset manually half the wall width - at least that's predictable.
It would be great if you could put formulae's into these items
    (ie. BW+20 etc)

    Hello C Graham,
You may have fixed this by now. You were doing everything correctly. I've found that the "Y" insertion point of the Custom block should be set from the "Front" Justification with a offset per component for proper alignment. (It seems the Center justification stretches the Y offset based on host the wall thickness.)
The other limitation is the "Y" Anchor (in Properties). You have to adjust this manually for every wall variation.
See Image below and setting in the attached Fixed drawing.

    Enjoy!
