Default Duct Accessory and Insulation - Electric duct heater

I am curently building a family for a Electric Duct Heater. Duct to match size of duct being cut into nominal 900 long, electric heater element inside duct, terminal box on outside of duct and 35 flange on conection.

I have everything working until I apply insulation or lining. They appear to select from the extents of the family so one side is selecting the flange the other is selecting the terminal box. Have tried modeling the element with extrusion and sweep with no change have tried nesting the flange and terminal box again with no luck. What am I missing?

Try putting the terminal box in as a detailed component and it doesn't picked up with insulation/ lining. We use this for flanges to avoid the horrible looking insulation you get otherwise.

Trouble is I think you would want it picked up by the insulation but not by the lining (would you put lining in an electric duct heater??).

If this doesn't work post the family and I'll see if I can have a look.

Daniel this would work but only in the specific view as the detail component is view based. This, however, gave me an idea and created the flange and terminal box as generic models and nested. The lining now ignores those elements. Insulation would also ignore them as you mention but it is closer then it was. Thank you

Sorry - Generic model is what I meant.

Still don't know why you would want to internally line an electric heater - wouldn't it be a fire risk?

There are instances where it is nominated and the milboard lining goes on the inside of the insulation.
Fibreglass insulation with millboard lining makes it quite safe but majority of the times this is not the standard construction.
