    Default System Inspector

I am trying to use the system inspector but I cannot get the icon to appear. The process I am using is as follows: tab over duct run until entire system is highlighted, select system; it is here that I expect to see the System Inspector icon in the tool bar, but it is not there. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong and how I can get that tool to function?
    Thanks.

Seems like that would be a logical way to get there, but logic doesn't always apply when it comes to Revit. You can actually pick any piece of duct, flex duct, or air terminal in the system, and the System Inspector will pop up in your menu.

You need to have your system "well connected" before the System Inspector icon shows up. When you select a section of ductwork, you'll probably see the "Show Related Warnings" icon on the ribbon, click this and try to work through all the warnings. Also, you'll need to make sure all your air terminals and other equipment families are working properly. I remember the first time I made an effort to get the System Inspector working, it took quite a bit of fiddling.
