    in the pgp file it speaks of a command called 'NOTEPAD'

    i think that might be what you are after?

    I don't know if this is it, but try this.
    In AutoCad, check your "Options", under the "Files" tab, then scroll down to "Text Editor, Dictionary, and Font File Names".
    Expand this node and see what "Text Editor Application" is set to.

    isn't there a way to switch to a different text editor? I can't seem to find it.
    The above post is correct.

    In the menu go to Tools > Options > File Tab > Text Editor, Dictionary, and Font File Names > Text editor application and browse to the exe you want to use.
