Lightbulb Timber frame style gable details

What are some methods of producing timber frame style gable roof details? I tried using lumber headers and placing them on angles. I wold like to be able to add curved timbers and more detail into my drawings.

    Thanks,

    Rob

I think you'll find that as you are trying to model components of greater and greater complexity and customization, the automated features of Revit will become liabilities. My suggestion is to create custom families. Think of the family editor as a millwork or machine shop that lets you build things for delivery to the site. Make custom shapes, perhaps with parameterized features like roof slope or member sizes, within the family. Bring that timber frame gable detail into the project ready to go.

    Mike,

Thank you! Great way to think about the family editor. I appreciate the feedback.

    Take care,
    Rob
