    Default MEP Spaces

    Hi all,

I am having trouble with getting spaces into an MEP model with a linked architectural model. This is a phased project and I have matched the MEP phases with the architectural. Room bounding is on. Rooms exist in the architectural model and I am able to create spaces in the architectural model. When I hit the space button in the MEP model, Revit spins it's wheels for quite a while before it allows me to put in a space that doesn't have valid boundaries. I have gotten an error saying the space computation has failed but I can't duplicate that every time. When I expand that message it says consider editting the architectural link. I don't see any plan regions but room separations were used extensively. I have not tried doing anything with them, yet.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Rob

Do you have the MEP phases mapped to the Arch phases? If not, you'll need to do this by selecting the Arch link, edit type (like when you checked Room Bounding), then click the Phase Mapping button. Not sure if this is your problem, but it's something to try.

The mapping wasn't correct and I had just finished correcting it when I got your responce. Still no joy. I have however stopped the spinning wheel by removing all CAD links.

    Problem solved.

Removed an inserted CAD object and viola, it works.
