Default Mouse wheel does not pan when pressed - How to resolve???

    Hi All,

I have spent literally months trying to get my damn middle mouse wheel to pan when pressed but instead it just switches between open applications. Nothng I have tried resolves this. MBUTTONPAN set to 1 or 0 - no change. Entering Windows 7 mouse settings dialogue box (with Intellipoint software installed) allows you to set up 'application specific' mouse button functions, including middle button. But - for my mouse at least it still doesn't work whichever specific function its set to.

When I plug my basic Dell wheel mouse into my work computer running running the exact same AutoCAD 2010 version (but running Windows XP, not Windows 7), it pans no problem when middle mouse wheel is pressed? I guess the problem could be the version of Windows??

Anyway, if anyone can help I will be SO grateful This is driving me nuts.

    cheers,
    Dave

From other people's comments, I think it's probably the Intellipoint driver that's the problem.

MBUTTONPAN should be 1 and the Wheel Button should be "Middle Click" in Intelipoint. Personally, if I was using a standard 3-button mouse, I wouldn't use a mouse driver at all, just the default mouse driver that Win7 will install.
