Default Rename a block to an existing block name (identical blocks)

I've got a bunch of (dynamic) blocks in a drawing. I used -insert block1=block2 to replace the old block. It worked, as all the properties are that of block2, but the name is still "block1". So now I've got two sets of identical blocks with two different names. I tried using RENAME, but it says there's a duplciate block name. I tried using BLOCKREPLACE, but it doesn't replace any blocks (I think it doesn't work with dynamic blocks).

Any ideas on how I can get all of the blocks to have the same name?

    Thanks All!

Could you delete ALL the old blocks (in one go), purge the block name, rename the later block then OOPS ?

John's suggestion should work. Another option would be to use the wblock command to create a new drawing of the blocks you want to rename and erase those blocks from the original drawing. In the new drawing rename the blocks then insert them back into the original.

Nope. OOPS doesn't bring them back once I purge...

Yes! Jeff's option worked (except I just did a copybase/delete/paste method)! Thanks guys!

    Probably the name conflict.
