    Question Inventor Pro 2012

We are having a problem with Inventor Pro 2012 not responding. We just moved to Windows 7 with new work stations and moved up to 2012 form 2010. Our computers are Lenovo ThinkStation D20's. They are 64 bit systems with 32 GB of RAM, Intel Xeon E5606 2.13 GHz processors and Nvidia Quadro 5000 video cards with 2.5 GB of memory. Frequently while working Inventor has to stop and 'Think' when it does we get a message at the top of the window that says 'Inventor Not Responding'. This 'Thinking' process can take anywhere from 30 seconds to several minutes then it will allow us to start working again. It does this reguardless of the size of the file we are working with and is becomming more frequent. Is there a setting that could have been overlooked when installing? Is anyone else having this problem?

I think you need a high speed CPU.

I am not sure that changing out the CPU is the answer. We have two different contarctors that supply us with design support and both have high end CPU's and video cards as well as max memory on the computer and video card and they have the exact same problem. So far everything points to that fact that there is a problem between Inventor Pro 2012 and Windows 7.

Are you working over a network? (sounds like it could be a network problem)
Did you install with anti-virus (including TSR) and UAC turned off?

We are working as standalone stations and we did install with both the anti-virus and UAC turned off. The contractors I mentioned say they also are running as standalone. I also have this question on Autodesk's discussion group site and have responses syaing that they are having the same problem. That is what is confussing that others are having the same problem but there is no known cure.

Even I don't think this is the case, you may need to check if you have enough free space in your hard drive.
Also, some say that some anti-virus slow down the machine (AVG, ect.).
