Default Put Your City on the Map.

So, you live in West Woop Woop , and you’re a bit peeved that Revit doesn’t include your town on its drop down menu of places for sun and shadow settings.

We can help you there. Just move to Sydney! No, sorry, there is another solution. You can Edit the Cities list ( yes, I know – West Woop Woop isn’t really a city,- it’s more a place you drive through, but bear with me here)

    To add a city

1 In the AccuRender dialog box, click Lighting.

2 In the Lighting dialog box, select SUN from the list, and click Edit.

3 In the Sun & Sky Settings dialog box, under Specify Solar Angles, select By Date, Time, and Place.

4 On the Place tab, from the Maps list select a map.

5 Right-click anywhere in the city list.

6 From the shortcut menu, click Add.

7 In the Edit City dialog box, enter the name, map, time zone, latitude, and longitude for the city.

    To edit a city

1 In the AccuRender dialog box, click Lighting.

2 In the Lighting dialog box, select SUN from the list, and click Edit.

3 In the Sun & Sky Settings dialog box, under Specify Solar Angles, select By Date, Time, and Place.

4 On the Place tab, right-click on a city in the list, and from the shortcut menu, click Edit.

5 In the Edit City dialog box, enter the name, map, time zone, latitude, and longitude for the city.

    To delete a city

1 In the AccuRender dialog box, click Lighting.

2 In the Lighting dialog box, select SUN from the list, and click Edit.

3 In the Sun & Sky Settings dialog box, under Specify Solar Angles, select By Date, Time, and Place.

4 On the Place tab, right-click on a city in the list, and from the shortcut menu, click Delete.

This can also be achieved by editing the text file - See How Here _ but why crawl under the car, get skinned knuckles and covered with oil, when there's no need ?

Don't know your latitude and longitude of your project location? Go to www.terraserver.com or http://terraserver.microsoft.com/ and type in your address. Both sites report lat and long for any location in the world.
