Model Space View placement on a sheet is slow

Placing Model Space Views on a sheet has become extremely slow in regards to a specific view and sheet file. If we do this with a different file, it works just fine. However, these files (one is an interior elevation view file with a lot of separate model space views and the other is a corresponding blank sheet) seem to take about 5 minutes just to get the insert viewport dialog to show up. Any suggestions. There are quite a few model space views in the view file (We have them broken down by areas and this area has two locker rooms and three toilet rooms that we are elevating). I would hate to create a view file of each room.

We have found that when model space view placement is slow, it's usually because of the View Drawing. Try purging all blocks from the drawing and also purging the RegApps through -PURGE. That has often helped the speed of putting model space view on sheets at our office.
