To use as the base map in the GPS unit no, that is all controlled by Garmin. If you want features or objects from a dwg/Map then you neeed to export those to a format that MapSource can handle, Shp, dxf or use 3rd party to create gpx files.

have you tried it? or do you know of any good/free software to transform dxf to garmin
I looked at ExpertGPS a few years ago, I don't think the free trial version will let you work with the DXF or other formats. What I did was use Map to export to SHP format and use DNRGPS to convert to gpx. You can also use Google Earth and kml format with some of the GPS units.
