Default CBS - Walls and Beams / working with architects.

I am wondering if any structural engineers out there are using Revit to model beams and CMU walls, and are interfacing with architects.
My questions sparks from the fact that you can mode a CBS wall in revit with using split regions. However I also understand that in most projects that are not residential, the top beam's depth will vary. Therefore you would have several wall types to accurately recreate such condition in Revit.

My questions also relates to the fact the a CBS wall carries weight or is of structural nature isn't?

I imagine that the structural engineer would most likely model the beams (as concrete walls) and infill the spaces with the correct CMU and that would constitute the structural model.
Then the architect can link that model and hide their CMU walls or at least the structure of the all (CMU).

This is what I i think.. I really would like to hear back from others who have done this in the past successfully.
    Thanks,

Most of the Revit projects I have done have been with CMU walls. For our office, we take ownership and model any structural walls, and the architect copy/monitors our walls. This take coordination at the beginning, but the results are great! All structural framing is modeled by us.

I wonder why Copy Monitor and not just link your model? I also think that in any car the structural engineer Copy monitor the walls from the Archi design model ?
