    Default Navisworks 2013 SP2 - Clash Reporting

    Hi Guys

    Have many of you been using SP2 for Navisworks 2013? There looks like there still a few bugs in the clash detection section, but the report to viewpoints now has quite a different result.
    The clash saved viewpoint no longer saves the redline mark-ups. It is however saving the clash status colour for the clashing items and it saves the hidden elements settings. This is really great and means its easier for users to review the clashes, however we would like the review mark-ups. It would be nice to know what the actual end result Autodesk are trying to achieve. It is not much good, it they give you one thing and then takeaway another item that is working!

    I've still had a few clash with renaming clash groups and at one point was not able to delete an empty clash group. It is being a lot more stable on some areas (especially clash filters).
    You would wonder how much testing Autodesk are doing before they are pushing out the Service Packs. Will there be a SP3 later in the year for Navisworks?

    Brian

    I can confirm what you have found as well. I am so glad that now the saved viewpoints retain the "results" look, but I too lost my markups. Two steps forward, one step back.

    If you write your clash report as viewpoints, can you then go into the individual viewpoints and add notes to them, updating them as you go? Are they disappearing in that instance??

    Still on 2012 but, VERY hopeful the 'Retaining the Results' look works..
    Give a man AutoCad, and he'll draw you a floor plan.
    Give a man Revit and he'll build you a house.
    Give Cadmama a couple of drinks and she'll have everyone singing Rockytop!

    @pauljordan:
    I did try that as well, and it also lost the markups.

    When you add the notes to the viewpoints, right click the name of the viewpoint and click the update.. Although, normally viewpoints that have been saved tend to keep all the markups that go with them without having to take that last step. I know that when I change colors or transparencies in a viewpoint after it's created, I have to update it to keep the changes..

    My test on saving the markups on the clash report viewpoint was a bit flawed. I had put in a cloud as my test, and when I updated the view, I lost the cloud. But if I follow up the cloud with some text and then update, it sticks. Yesterday I must of not finished out the cloud so it kept deleting. My bad.

    Cool, had me worried there for a bit as that would have made it a lot more serious of an issue than first lead to believe..
