Default Exporting C3D file to AutoCAD 2007 Format ...

We are not having much luck with the Export to AutoCAD tool in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012. We are getting an error save message with a use drawing recovery tool suggestion pop up soon after the processing begins. Anybody out there use it (_AecExportToAutoCAD2007 _Mspace) with success?

    Thanks in advance

Maybe if you explode everything and then save as ACAD 2007, it might not give you the message.

Well, exploding is never a best-effort choice, sir.
First, I'd export the 2012 surface by means of _LANDXMLOUT command, then in Civil 2007 I'd import it with _LANDXMLIN ...

When you export to LandXML, make sure the release (LandXML Version) is set to 0.8 and NOT 1.0 or 1.1

When going backwards from civil3d, exploding is often the 'best-effort choice'. In the OP, I'm not seeing any reference to civil 3d 2007, just autocad 2007. AFAIK, the only way to get usable information going from c3d to a lower version of acad involves exploding, or -aecexporttoautocad, which is essentially doing the same thing.

LandXML export/iport would be sensible if the end product is a c3d drawing in a lower version, but that was not in the OP

I use the export to Acad 2000 on all my drawings because of internal filing standards and have no trouble.

Are you in model or paper space to do this? Paper space make an enormous file.

As part of the process transition to Acad C3D creates a wblock of C3D element and will do this for each and every vport.
