Unhappy Concrete Beam Won't Join Concrete Roof Slab at Ridge..HELP

I suspect being at the ridge is part of the problem, but I can't get the ridge beam to join the roof slab.
I've tried copying the beam and placing it in the proper place, nothing! I've tried starting over with new beams, nothing! I've tried creating the roof slab differently, nothing!

At one time, when it was two seperate sloping slabs, one side did join the beam but not the other, I don't know why and I can't recreate that either.

    See attached images.... any ideas?

    Thanks

Did you try the attach option?

Did you check to make sure the material is set to the same thing? From you images the two beams aren't showing up the same, which could mean that they are different materials. That could be the issue. Even if they're both set to concrete, if one is Concrete-3ksi and the other is Concrete-4ksi that might make them not join.

No I didn't, looked into attach options, can't find one for beams and roofs?
    Suggestions?

Yes, they all have the material "Concrete-Cast-In-Place-Concrete", and I had them "By Catagory", but just for giggles, I assigned "Concrete-Cast-In-Place-Concrete" to the ridge beam and now shows the proper material, but still won't join.. very strange. Checked the roof slab too, same material and the other beams are joining just fine.

    Hi Ted,
This sounds like a good mystery. What does the plan view look like? I'm curious why the ridge beam doesn't show a cut pattern.
What happens if you delete one of the slabs, will the remaining one join geometry with the ridge beam?

Thanks for the reply, don't have time right now to upload images, maybe later today.
The roof slab is one piece now with a ridge put in it.

I don't know why the cut pattern didn't show, it's the same as the other beams in my screen shot. I did assign material to the actual beam and the pattern showed up.

I was able to move the center beam around and one did eventually "join" but it's a little off center of the ridge. Can't recreate it with the other two beams I need to do it with.

I'll get back to you with more info and screen shots.

    Thanks

Here's an update, I was able to fix it.
Not exactly sure what was causing the problem, I suspect it was something to do with the beams the ridge beams were connected to.
I found that some of those beams weren't symmetrical, and so I fixed one to the proper slope, vertical and horizontal positions, and copied and mirrored them.
Once I did that, and moved the ridge beam into position, everything joined properly.

So the moral to the story is: check your geometry before you hit the panic button!

    Hi Ted,

Great that you fixed the problem! It's possible that if they weren't joining correctly that the geometry join with the slab might have not known what to do (I suspect this may be the reason we didn't get the cut pattern but could have been some other reason)

    thanks for the pictures too.

Yea that's what I'm thinking, the roof slab was confused trying to join all the beams and some weren't quite right.
As you can see roof and framing is a bit complex, and some of my beam "start and end points" weren't symmentrical at both sides of the ridge, which I just discovered.
