Questions from a beginner

So I am currently in the process of teaching myself Revit, this has been a interesting undertaking. I am working on a project the has two arch beams with plates on each side there are hss's in between the arches at 30' o.c. I placed the hss's in between the arch's on the center of the beam however I need these to be attached to the plates instead of on the beam it self. The plates(these are also arched the same as the beam) were created using the model in place method so I am not able to pick the center of the plated (unless there is a way to do this that I am not aware of).

I however believe that the intention of this program is to have the model put together the same as if it was in real life. This is my reason for attaching the hss's to the plates. My understanding of this program is some what limited and help is greatly appreciated.

First, congratulations on tackling Revit, once you get the hang of it, you'll love it!

So, you have a situation like this? (in section)

If so, the idea is to attach the HSS to the arched beams and set the start and end extensions to put the geometry at the edge of the plate.

If this is not your scenario, please provide a sketch so that we can understand your situation more clearly.
