More beginner Questions

I am in the process of modeling something that may become a project in the next year. My question is do you have to model everything right down to the gusset plates and bolts or are some of these things left out of the model and put in to the details.

Its depending upon the Architect or your lead engineer. If arch have cut the live sections and they would like to see those stuffs, Then i would say yes.

In most of the cases, You don't need to model them. As they will be covered in the 2D Drafting details.

I have faced same problem in one of my project. Architect wants the haunches of the precast wall to show up in the arch model when they will link the structural model.

So, Approach your engineer and get the feedback on how He/She wants to see this stuff. In a drafting view or actual model.

If you are sharing the model you may want to show them as it may effect the architects details. I haven't done that myself (quite new at this myself) but if you have revit extensions (not sure if available in 2010) then you will be able to add some connections. Otherwise you can add the 2D connection info in your detail views.
