Default Can't edit work plane for beams

I'm trying to change flat beams to sloping. I've created the necessary reference planes, but when I try to specify by name, they don't appear on the list.

If I place a new beam, I can pick the planes and they are added correctly.

I've tried adjusting the view range, making sure all planes are switched on and doing it in Plans/Sections/Elevations, but nothing is working.

I know this is going to be something daft, does anybody have any ideas?

    Cheers,
    John

    Hi John,

when you select the reference plane, one of the properties is Name. Have you provided a name for the one you want to select by name? if not, it won't appear in the list of potential named reference planes in the pick new host dialog.
