Showing hatch pattern over material cut pattern

Hi there,

I have a cut pattern for concrete walls that is a shaded grey. In certain instances, I'd like to show a hatch over this to indicate a specific type of concrete.

I am aware I can place a transparent filled region over the walls to achieve this, but I'm trying to keep away from this practice.

Is there a way I can either;
Create a pattern file with a shaded background?
Create a material cut pattern that essentially has layers? i.e. Showing the concrete beyond with the hatched pattern over.
Apply a hatch pattern over the wall using an Override filter?

Would overriding graphics in view (select object - right click - override graphics in view - by element) work for you?

Hi and thanks for your response.

It would work for me if I could create a new hatch pattern that contained a solid <fill> background with a black hatch over the top. I'm unsure how to create this in Revit/AutoCAD.

Hence, I was wanting to know if I could essentially create a transparent hatch over an element by using a filter.
