Contact your local government's permit office and they should have pamphlets explaining submission requirements for drawings and tell you what codes you need to follow.Originally Posted by ebrick2004
The City of Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety publishes a Type V construction sheet that has all this information for generic, wood-framed buildings like private houses.
Here's the link:

Be patient, when I looked at it it took a long time to download. The pdf file is 7 pages.

Yes, I have the requirements More or less.
My project is 3-4 story building, steel structure.
What I need is AutoCAD file example of drawings that includes font style and height, dimensions style, layout settings etc.
I am not American architect, so I never worked in feet and inches...
That a problem.)
If your building is light-gauge steel, you could try the Steel Stud Manufacturer's Association at http://www.ssma.com/technical_library.htm. They have CAD details you can download.
If your building is a frame made with rolled sections and infilled with non-bearing walls, then there really is no source for guidelines, other than very generic sources like "Architectural Graphic Standards." You'll have to look at a set of drawings for a building that's been designed and gone through plan check. These will not be easy to come by, as most architects and engineers regard their drawings as proprietary information. If you're in the Los Angeles area, you could try visiting Building and Safety and asking to see the drawings for a particular project. Or you could go to a construction site and ask to see the drawings. Getting your hands on CAD files for these, however, is going to be pretty difficult.
