Logical connections
Summary: Provide the ability to make logical connections between connectors.
Description: Some examples where logical connections are usefull:
- two cable trays are not always connected by means of a fitting but can nevertheless share a cable run. If a logical connection exists, one can show the relation by using the tab key.
- during design, one does not want to get lost in the details. It sometimes takes twice as much time to actually draw complex situations of fittings when all you want to show is that they are connected. During construction, one can look at it in more detail and make the physical connection by means of fittings...
- it should be possible to connect e.g. a fridge to an electrical socket. The power of the electrical socket could in that case be determined by the appliance (if opted for by the end user).
other cases without connector:
- a roof surface could logically be connected to a drain. In that case one can calculate the drain system based on the total connected roof surface. During detailed design, one could analyse the slope of the roofs to determine the total roof surface to be drained but that's way more complex to program and also not feasable during conceptual design.
- and so on...
logical connections are vital for revit!
