Column formwork area

Hi,
I have a problem with calculating the formwork area in Material takeoffs.
For example the 'Material: Area' of the structural columns. I make the material takeoff, and I can see the material area is the whole surface of the column - faces and the bottom and top sectional area included.
But I need the formwork area, in case of cast-in-situ concrete column is it only the surface of the faces.
How can I make a calculated value, which is equal to the surface of the faces, without the cross sectional areas? I can't make a formula for that because there is no schedule field like sectional area, or b and h.
I think,I should make a fomula
Material: Area-2*(sectional area)
But it dosen't work.
Is there any solution for that?

You will need to add a shared parameter inn your column family which you call "perimeter" or something similar. In this parameter you can add a formula that calculates the perimeter og the column (2*b+2*h).

In your column schedule add a calculated value called formwork area and use the formula perimeter*length. This should give you the formwork area of your colum.
