    Default maya to inventor

hello, i have several models in maya. and i want to use these models in inventor as solid (fill) structure. is there any way to do this? when i export polygon meshes .iges from maya and import them to inventor there's nothing!
i tried to convert polygon meshes to nurbs surfaces in maya. bu it doesnt work properly. models get disrupt.
also there's a format .stl but i dont know how can i use it between maya and inventor.

I don't know anything about Maya, but can you export out to a step file (.stp)?
If you can, Inventor can read that.
