    Default Clash Naming

Is it possible to configure Navisworks to name clashes more indicatively, e.g. instead of Clash001, Clash002 etc, could it use the type names of the objects clashing, e.g. "Clash001 Cable Basket vs Carbon Steel" so that I have a quick heads up about what the clash is?

You could have your clash batches set to where Cable Basket and Carbon Steel are two separate batches but, then it would only place clashes in those batches into a folder called Cable Basket and Carbon Steel with clash numbers assigned. This would show up if you write your report to Viewpoints.

As for the software going through and individually selecting what's involved in the clash, I haven't seen that happen yet. Might be a wish list item but, I'm sure there are a few other wishes that would come in ahead of that one.
Give a man AutoCad, and he'll draw you a floor plan.
Give a man Revit and he'll build you a house.
Give Cadmama a couple of drinks and she'll have everyone singing Rockytop!

For clash resolving an A/S/MEP model there are already enough sets and tests without breaking it down further. Thinking about it further it would be better if the results matrix included columns for the object type.

When generating clash reports it is vital to teach the recipients of the clash reports to always call up the "Clash Test" name first and then the “Clash sequential number”.
It would be lovely to be able to batch rename clashes, but that is currently not available out of the box.
I know the Clash detective has now been opened up to the API, but I've not sure if the API can rename the clashes.
