Post Search Set w NWC name & Element Parameter

    Hi Guys

I want to make double certain I and my Navisworks collogue contacts are not missing something.

We have been creating search sets around using "Item" "Source File" "Contains" "Authoring file name". (Resolution "First Object")
Then we may add the following line of (eg Revit file) "Element" "Category" "=" "Walls". (Resolution "First Object")
The above works fine, but requires some stringent workflows.

I have always wanted to go off "Item" "Name" "Contains" "NWC file name" (Resolution "File")
and then "Element" "Category" "=" "Walls" (Resolution "First Object")

The latter search never works. In fact I find any data in searches at the resolution "File" and then including a resolution level below file never works.

    Is there some thing missing, or is this just not possible )-;

    Hey Brian,

    What version are you using??

Can you post a couple of screenies so I can see what it is you're trying to do??

Also, select one of the items you're trying to make a selection set for, then show us the properties.

If it's easier, make a simple .nwd file with a few different objects and a selection set that's not working and send it to me.

I love a good selection set challenge..
Give a man AutoCad, and he'll draw you a floor plan.
Give a man Revit and he'll build you a house.
Give Cadmama a couple of drinks and she'll have everyone singing Rockytop!

    Thanks Paul

I have attached an NWD file (zipped file) with the working search set, and the search set which is not working.
The file are a Navisworks 2013 format.

It should be simple, but I suspect the Navisworks database is not able to read the file level and content level in the same search.
The attached image is the required search set.

    Cheers

    Hi Guys
    I got this to work.

I first created a search set to find the file name (House_File),
Then a second search set that "Search in" the "House_File" search set then search for Element, Category = Walls.
