    Default Timber Roof Joist

Hi Guys, I need to place timber roof joists for a flat roof and am having trouble getting started. I have found the Beam button to place steel beams but there isn't an option for timber joists. Tried using Dimentional Lumber but that doesn't let me use it, it's a component.?

A step by step or link or some instruction would be very useful here.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello:
As far as I know, you can:
    1) use simple model-in-place extrusions (easiest and quickest, I usually extrude from a plan view since copying and moving in the direction of the original extrusion is difficult)
    or
    2) Make the rafters in the family editor, which is great if you need a parametric array that can automatically add joists should you change the length of your building.

I have always used the first option, but learned the second only recently.
    Hoping this helps,
