Question Void only Cutting half of an extrusion

I have a family with one nested inside. The host family consist of one extrusion and one void extrusion. Now once the other family is nested and the extrusion passes through it the void doesn't cut the extrusion anymore and it sticks out on the other side of my family. What should I do to fix or change this? I have posted a copy of the family below.

It looks like you'll have to reestablish the cut. Just go to Modify tab » Cut ▼ Cut Geometry, select the void extrusion, and then the solid extrusion.

It should once it's cutting an extrusion. A Void will be visible and orange only if it isn't cutting anything (either because it isn't assigned to cut any extrusions or it doesn't overlap any applicable extrusions). I opened your Family and followed this procedure - no problem; the orange is gone. Is it still showing up for you?

Right, because the Void is no longer cutting the extrusion. That's OK, though, because the orange will not visible when then Family loaded into a Project.

it still does something weird when loaded into the project but I think has more to do with the fact that i use a convaluted mess of a formula that makes no sense

You're formula's not that bad! I'm not seeing the issue, can you elaborate on what's weird? Maybe a screenshot?

When the panel is loaded into a wall hosted family the void still shows up but not if it is loaded into a project is it just going to be like that because it is a family?

That's strange. The void should not be visible, even if loaded into another Family. Try loading it into a Project and see if it shows up there.
