So, the architect has a "Documentation Model" comprised of "Interior", "Exterior", "Structural", & "Detailed Exterior" models linked in.

We receive all the models, go into the "Documentation" model, change the link type from overlay to attached. We then link in the "Documentation" model and tell our views to show the arch'l by linked view and pick the appropriate view from the "Documentation" model.

Works like a charm but for some reason the "Interior" model keeps showing up as a linked file in manage links.

Anyone seen this behavior before? The obvious answer is that someone must have linked it in individually and then lied about it, or they did it by accident. But let's assume that these designers of buildings have told the truth and are not accidentally doing things in revit. What might cause something like this?

Also, we remove the link, re-save the central file, re-create everyone's local files and a week or two later .... IT'S BACK! ....

It only happens on this project so I'm not too worried about it but I am curious.

Any and all thoughts will be read and considered enthusiastically so toss in your 2 cents and thanks!
