    Default Pdf drawing import into civil 3d

    I want to import a pfd to civil3d and be able to follow contour lines automaticaly

    I downloaded autocad raster 2013 but it seems not to work with a PDF.

    No need to... "download" anything, man.

    1] convert your PDF to a bitmap format, with the free PDF X-Change Viewer
    2] vectorize automatically that bitmap by means of the free Wintopo.

    Open the PDF in Adobe reader, select all and copy or use the shapshot tool. Then in Civil3D with Raster Design loaded do a paste. You may need to scale and rotate/align the image but that method words for PDF format and allows the RD contour follower to work.

    ... How pre-tell would one use these 'free' applications without downloading them?

    I consider it to be a compliment, that I do not automatically assume others have illegally downloaded software.
