Default File Format limitations to DWF

ACA 2012 on Win7We are having an issue with our subcontractors wanting CAD drawings from us and they are refusing pdfs. So I am trying to find a happy medium and am hoping that dwfs solve our subs issues. My question is: Will a dwf created in 2012 be useable in an older version of Autocad? like 2008? is there a file format limitation? Thanks beforehand for your help!Bridgett

Im not 100% sure on this, but I believe with DWG Trueview, you can convert newer versions of DWF's to previous versions. You can also do that with a DWG. But what exactly is the problem your subs are having with the dwg? If its just file versions. when you export your dwg, you can save it to previous versions.

Other than DWF vs. DWFx, I don't *think* there are any version differences - at least until you go way back, like maybe pre-R2004.....

I have found over the years that the best way to find out things like this is just to send them a test file and ask them to let you know.
A lot of partners, clients, etc. I have seen don't know even what brand software their guys are using, much less what version, etc.

Trueview does not open or save DWF files.
