HI! I am new to Revit & I am trying to figure a way to do a "swept" cut of a 1 1/2" x 5 1/3" rectangle along the inside perimeter of a foundation grade beam. Does someone have a simple way of doing this.
Using Revit 2013 Ultimate.
Thanks
Paul

Paul, only way I know of to cut concrete beams is to use the opening by face tool and cut away what you want.
There is no way that I know of to put a depression or partial void (pocket) in a grade beam without cheating (ie using a multiple objects to create the geometry you need)
You could use a stacked wall to create a grade beam and put an 1 1/2" tall stem aligned to the outside face that is 5 1/2" narrower than the main wall/grade beam.
another option would to use 2x6 wall, and offset bottom into top of grade beam. the wall should cut the grade beam.
also you could add 2x6 profile sweep to bottom of wall to show embedded 2x6 plate.
see attached example
