\F - anything in the string after the \F is not displayed
\L - anything after the \L is underlined
\O - anything after the \O is overscored
\T - not seeing any effect except that the \T character is not displayed ??
\W - characters after \W are displayed tightly compressed - to the point of illegibility
can also add \N to the list -- that duplicates the functionality of \P and forces a new line
~C just gives me a ~C character string
